Fathers Day, Football, Barbecue …
Be very careful, then, how you live–not as unwise but as wise,
Ephesians 5:15
MEN BEHAVING WISELY
Our mens fellowship is aptly called ‘Men Behaving Wisely’ and its a reflection of the fact that men ought to ‘be careful how we live, not as unwise but as wise’. As a group we are very much into studying the Bible and what it has to say about being a man in today’s culture. We believe the Bible has something to say about every aspect of life and how we live. While all we do in our Men’s Fellowship is Bible centred we are also strong on personal development – with respect to careers, relationships, finances and other matters that are important to flourishing as a man in today’s society.
UNDERSTANDING CULTURE
One important activity of our fellowship is to study and understand culture and often we would view a film on popular release and engage with it theologically, asking the question ‘what is society saying through this film and what might God want to say in return’ Discussions are always insightful; it’s Bible study in a whole new light!
SOCIALISING & MORE
You will find the apart from our regular Bible studies we have a lot of events – father / son football matches, seminars on leadership, group coaching sessions, men’s health campaigns and so on are regular activities. And then there are the leisure outings – breakfasts off premises, visits to places of interest (Mercedes Benz world for instance). Its not all about leisure though, we also take our social responsibilities outside of the church very seriously and have for some time now been supporting Richards Hospice – a local organisation that supports children with end life illnesses.
There is much more that we do of course – to find out more please send us a message using the form on this page. You’ll also find here details of our upcoming events. Please plan to participate.
God bless
From all at Men Behaving Wisely
